The surrender option was introduced to prevent the chaos of refunds for ineligible beneficiaries. The surrender is not a refund of the installments received, and farmers who deliberately disregard the surrender may face legal action.

To refund the PM Kisan amount, farmers can visit the PM Kisan website and click on the “refund online” option. Then, they need to enter their Aadhaar number, account number, mobile number, and captcha code to get the payment details. After that, they can select the refund payment box, enter their email ID and contact details, and confirm the payment.

To deactivate PM Kisan, you need to voluntarily surrender your PM Kisan benefits. Follow these steps to do so:
1. Visit the official website of PM Kisan.
2. Click on the ‘voluntary surrender of PM Kisan benefits’ tab.
3. Enter your registration number, CAPTCHA code, and OTP received.
4. The total installment received will be displayed. Click ‘Yes’ on “Do you wish to surrender your PM Kisan Benefit?” and enter the OTP.
5. Please note that after surrendering your PM Kisan benefits, you will not be able to receive any further PM Kisan cash benefits or register again for the PM Kisan scheme.
